Akoumankaki persimmon
The tree produces large sized fruits. A pollination variant non astringent (PVNA) type. Fruit shape is rounded, with a roundish cross section. Best time to harvest is when fruits have dark-orange skin color. When ripe, flesh color is orange without pollination (parthenocarpic). Sugar content of the fruit is medium. It has elliptic seeds that are medium sized. An intermediately vigorous tree. Cultivar originated from Italy. The female flowers are large sized. Fruit production has high reliability. Its fruits ripen intermediately in the season. Fruits when properly ripened are eaten as snacks, candied or preserved. This cultivar is mainly used for fruit production. Frost resistance is high. It has good grafting compatibility on Diospyrus lotus rootstock. Akoumankaki is intermediate bloomer compared to others. It bears female flowers only.
